Butch Wardlaw was a Special Agent in the Southwest Region his entire OIG career and retired around 1988. Prior to OIG, he worked with AMS as a grain warehouse examiner.

The following is from his obituary:

  • Roswell "Butch" Wardlaw, age 76 of Rocksprings, passed away Monday, September 29, 2014. He was born March 19, 1938 in Uvalde to Roswell and Less (Shanklin) Wardlaw. On September 3, 1960, he married Ginger Whitworth in Rocksprings.

    Butch worked for USDA as a Special Investigator for over 20 years. He loved to hunt, fish, and go to Ruidoso to the horse races.

    Survivors include wife, Ginger of Rocksprings; daughter, Trichel Jorgensen and husband, Randy of Omaha, NE; sister, Less Tice of Temple; and granddaughter, Alex Lawton of Lubbock.

    Graveside services will be held Thursday, October 2, 2014, 2:30 PM at Rocksprings Cemetery officiated by Bubba Whitehead.

    Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
