John Eikel, 72, retired Special Agent, passed away May 17, 2022.

John came to OIG, Kansas City, from the Kansas City Police Department in December 1980. He left OIG about 1986 transferring to DCIS in Kansas City from where he ultimately retired. After retirement, John worked at FLETC in Artesia, NM, as a firearms instructor.

December 1, 1949 - May 17, 2022

Lee's Summit, Missouri - I am saddened to announce the death of my father, John Raymond Eikel. He passed away peacefully at the age of 72 at St. Lukes Hospice House with family by his side. He was a loving son, brother, father and husband. He served his country and he was a good friend. He was generous, had the best jokes, and the most contagious laugh. He is preceded in death by his parents, Quintin and Ann and his wife, Jackie. He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer (Mike), two grandsons, brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, and many cousins. To honor his memory we are holding a celebration of life Sunday, July 10th 2-5 at VFW Post 5789 in Lee's Summit, MO.
