John V. Graziano, former Director of Investigations and later Inspector General, passed away May 1, 2014, at his home in Dallas, Texas. His obituary was published in the Las Vegas (Nevada) Review- Journal May 5th:

  • JOHN GRAZIANO
    John V. Graziano passed away May 1, 2014, at home in Dallas. Born July 3, 1927, in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was a paratrooper in the 11th Airborne Division. serving in the Pacific in World War II. He had a distinguished career in public service, including as the USDA Inspector General from 1981-1986. In the 1970's, he organized, trained and deployed 1500 Sky Marshals to prevent aircraft hijacking. While living in Las Vegas from 1990-2010, he was a member of the Nevada Bar Committee on Discipline and the first Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Citizen's Review Board. He was preceded in death by one son, Mitchell Graziano. He is survived by his wife, Susan L. Rives; children, Patti Schmidt, Linda Bove, David Graziano, and Angela Graziano; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. No services are scheduled.
