Lake Walter F. George
Eufaula, Alabama
Apil, 2002

There were five of us this year and we went in style! We spent the week at the
Lake Point Resort, a state park just north of Eufaula, and the accommodations were terrific. It was an interconnected duplex with 4 bedrooms, two kitchens and two bathrooms. The facility was immaculate and the air conditioning worked like a champ! They even furnished fresh towels every day.

The fishing was a bit slow the first part of the week, but we managed to compensate (see left). Friday it really picked up. Two and three pound bass started hitting the lures Friday afternoon and we made up for lost time. The lake was a pleasure to fish - scenic, a lot of natural cover, a good marina and the alligators stayed mostly out of the way. The weather also cooperated with mild temperatures and very little wind. Lastly, the casualty rate was low (for both us and the fish!). One hooked thumb, one lost rod and reel and one warning ticket for driving a boat too fast. When Sgt. Bubba says "No wake," he means just that. Not even a ripple!

Sunrise. Talk about a great lookin' bass lake!!!

At the dock. Jeff, Dean and Harold. Also, a "No wake" zone.

Harold, Jeff, Kyle and Dean. Great facilities and 24 hour security.

Mid morning and still no wind. Dean, Jeff and Kyle headed in for breakfast.
